Sustainability Statement

Nestled in the heart of the Cornish countryside, we've always adored the natural environment and as such, we place sustainability at the very core of our business operations.

With ambitious visions for the future, and some significant environmental milestones already reached, this is a key outline of our current Sustainability Statement as an organisation.

We're always open to feedback and input too, so if there's anything that you think we can improve on-site, please let us know.

The hot tubs for Ash and Beech are currently heated by air source heat pumps and we are looking at switching over more hot tubs in the near future.

We have a self-sufficient water supply and back in 2023, we went from mains water to spring water.

Water efficiency systems are in place in our toilets and taps.

We use LED lights across the whole site, which typically use up to 90% less energy than their incandescent counterparts.

We are not burning fossil fuels from heating our cottages as this is done via an air source heat pump as an eco-friendly alternative.

We are always looking at ways of repurposing materials on-site. For example, if a tree branch is cut down, we look at using this to put towards creating fences around the site.

We responsibly source products from sustainable suppliers, and use local suppliers where we can, to reduce our carbon footprint.

Eco-friendly cleaning products are used within our cottages wherever possible and we encourage our guests to do the same.

We are on a journey to eradicate single-use plastics, and hope to do so by Summer 2024.

All of our waste is sorted and separated to minimise our impact and we look to reduce waste wherever possible.

We are sympathetic to the landscape and preservation of our heritage is extremely important to us.

There is an electric charging point for guests to use on-site (charges apply), and our company vehicle is also electric.

To minimise waste, we also have a circular materials policy, where we aim to utilise everything around our site on multiple occasions, reducing our impact on the natural environment as much as possible, and minimising the need to source materials elsewhere.

We ensure wildlife have their natural habitats left intact across our wild meadows and woodland areas, preserving and supporting bees and other creatures

We are proudly based in Looe, Cornwall and as such, we aim to support the local economy wherever possible.

We do this by employing local people, contributing to seasonal, local events and investing money back into businesses in the area.
