Kilminorth is very special place - for us and for all of the guests who have experienced its magic over the years.

Our much-loved cottages play host to many visitors - whether it's for a staycation to Cornwall, a wedding, or even a corporate team-building weekend.

The whole site has gone through a beautiful transformation, and each year, we're always striving to improve and expand what we can offer our guests. But it's crucial that we always retain our Cornish heritage - you'll find original features wherever you look, and our guests remain at the heart of everything we do.

Welcome to the family

Meet the Team

Our Vision, Values and Mission

We embrace continuous exploration, learning and a journey towards ambitious goals. We encourage a culture of curiosity, innovation and a commitment to pursuing challenges as opportunities for growth.

Kilminorth is a unique escape, where the beauty of Cornwall meets unrivalled hospitality. Weaving together nature's serenity with exceptional comfort, we strive to be the destination where unforgettable moments are created for every guest.

Our vision places people at the heart of everything we do, forging a legacy of excellence that stands the test of time.

The estate was also owned by Sir Robert Tresilian who was executed at Tyburn in 1388 for having been “Adviser of Arbitrary Measures.”

After 1066, Kilminorth then belonged to Count Robert of Mortain, tenant-in-chief. Various spellings including Kilminawyd, Kelmynawyd, Kelmynothe and Killmenorth have been recorded over this time period.

Kilminorth is mentioned as early as the Doomsday Book and belonged to Wulfin of Penhole, Lord of the Manor.

980AD

1388

1066 - 1065

In 1669, Sir Charles Wager lived at Kilminorth during the Great Fire of London, he commanded different battleships becoming Admiral Wager. He was also one of two MP’s elected for West Looe in 1741.

1669

The farm was sold on from the Trelawny and Best Family to Michael C. Stone Esq. In 1980 the farm changed as the farm buildings were turned into holiday cottages.

1980

The estate then no longer classed as a manor but a barton eventually became part of the Trelawne Estate. Kilminorth from then on was a pastoral farm and up until 1976 was farmed by the Best Family

1976

Henry Pollard Esq. releases the estate to William Martin (Gent.) of Broadhempstone, Devon. The estate was then spelt Killmynot.

1621

Then, Wharley was completed, along with major refurbs being finished Saddle, Bridle, Granary, and Oat Cottages.

2012

2011

We took over in 2010 and started the mammoth task of redeveloping the site. We had a clear vision but a long road ahead of us.

2010

2006 - 2007

The estate was sold in 2006 - 2007 to a local business man, Mr Gary Moroso.

Apple, Scrumpy, Ash and Beech were all relaunched, and we also improved our wedding area in 2019, by levelling the area that now hosts our marquee.

2014 - 2021

The last few years have seen huge changes. We built the brand new Marley's Bar and extended the seating area for the pool. We've added a new commercial kitchen and a new bar for the wedding area. We also rebranded, with a slick new look and feel for Kilminorth.

2021 - 2023

2013 was a hugely important year for us, as we committed to hosting our very first wedding. This would mark a new arm of Kilminorth that has influenced much of our business now.

2013

In 2011, the site was reopened to the public, having finished Above Town, Warren, Queen Park, South Meadow & Hayloft.
